Was at the Portland show last night and was blown away. Don struck me as charming, shy, humble, fascinating, and brilliant. Just saw your stupid Tweet and got pissed off. So did he refuse to sign your tits afterward and now you feel the need to publicly slam him? Did he use too many big words? Way to ignorantly shit on one of the most relevant and fragile independent artists we have in this country. Idiot.

Any contemporary artist that compares anything in their work with anything to do with the holocaust is a pretentious blowhard in my opinion. I love his movies, but I thought he came off as a douche. I’m not preventing you from keeping your high opinion of him. I just said what I thought, because I was extremely disappointed with him. This email was unnecessary, but thanks for the insults, it’s always invigorating getting in arguments with strangers from the internet.

Someone asked him about the inspirations for the trilogy and he mentioned a WW2 story. He wasn’t *comparing* shit, he was paying tribute to a survivor’s story that inspired him. It was totally relevant and insightful how it made it into the new movie. I have no idea how this can be twisted into something “extremely disappointing” and I have to think now that you’re just trolling and making shit up. Were you even listening to the Q&A? Wow. Seriously.

I get it, you don’t like “arguing with strangers over the internet.” And yet, you felt perfectly fine personally insulting a total stranger on the internet. Unless you’re one of those psychos who thinks celebrities are your friends, or exalted beings who are OK to attack? And all for something you obviously didn’t even understand. I have about 12,000 followers on Twitter, how about I start a “Kate Rhoads is an ignorant twat” thread? Words have consequences. Maybe you’ll get it some day.
